Drake feat. 21 Savage - Treacherous Twins

In “Treacherous Twins,” Drake and 21 Savage rap on a warm, mellow-like beat—which samples Ginuwine’s 1996 track “Lonely Daze”—about loyalty between close friends. “Twin” is often a term to refer to a close companion, while “treacherous,” on the other hand, means guilty of betrayal hence the heavy contrast between the two words presenting, a toxic friendship.

Timbaland Presents Shock Value 2 (10th Anniversary)

Shock Value II is the third studio album by American record producer and rapper Timbaland. It serves as the second volume of the platinum-selling Shock Value (2007) which topped charts worldwide and received 16 platinum certifications.
Initially slated for a 2008 release, the project was pushed into 2009 and tentatively confirmed for November 23, 2009 through Blackground Records, however, it was pushed back once more and finally released on December 7, 2009 in the UK and December 8 in the US.

Timbaland spoke to MTV's Shaheem Reid back in July 2008 to confirm that he was working on the follow-up to his platinum-selling Shock Value. At the time he confirmed that he had one track with Madonna which although recorded for her album Hard Candy it had not been used and could end up on this album instead. He was insistent that he would also collaborate with Jordin Sparks, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus and T.I. However, none of these collaborations (except Miley Cyrus) made it to the final track list. He also said that alongside T-Pain who will definitely appear, he hoped to get Jay-Z on board, although he ultimately failed to do so.

"Shock Value 2" features a long list of guest artists, among them Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, Brandy, Keri Hilson, JoJo, Drake, The Fray, Soshy, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Daughtry and More...

.

the lead single for the album "Morning After Dark" with Timbaland's new artist SoShy. Timbaland described the song as
He added that "that record has the most unique sound from the whole album".

Timbaland told MTV that will.i.am's work on "I Gotta Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas inspired him to make "If We Ever Meet Again": "When I did this song, I was in love with this record called..... you're gonna be surprised. The record didn't have anything to do with ['If We Ever Meet Again'], but when I heard [the Black Eyed Peas'] "I Gotta Feeling", I said, 'I want a record just like that on my album.' I said, 'I gotta do me a "I Gotta Feeling" record.' Me and one of my producers, Jim Beanz, we came up with this concept. I said, '["I Gotta Feeling"] is happy, but I like it.' It gives a good feeling".

Timbaland and Drake came about through a discussion between Mosley and Jay-Z. In an interview with Shaheem Reed of MTV News, Mosley quoted him saying "'Yo, man, you gonna wanna get in the studio with this guy named Drake. I'm telling you. He's the next cat.'" Mosley, Graham, and Harmon have collaborated on "Off That", featured on Jay-Z's eleventh studio album The Blueprint 3(2009). Timbaland stated that he was attracted to Drake because of his tone, saying "His tone is ridiculous right now. I love his tone."

The album did not chart as highly as the previous Shock Value album, which had debuted at number five in the US in 2007, with 138,000 copies sold in its first week. Instead, Shock Value II debuted on the U.S. Billboard 200 at an underwhelming number 36, with 37,834 copies in its first week. It fared better on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, entering at number seven. Similarly, in the United Kingdom, as well as in Ireland, the album only managed to chart at number 25 in its first week. These positions failed to match those of Shock Value I (2007) which reached number two and number one in the UK and Ireland respectively.

Timbaland Hints at Drake Collaboration

Drake, who is very much not dead, is working on Views From The 6, and in a recent interview, Timbaland neither confirmed nor denied that he is involved with the album, although he certainly implied that he was.
The interviewer asked Timbaland, “Are you on Drake’s Views From the 6,” to which he replied, “I could be.” When pushed for an elaboration, Timbaland responded, “I don’t know, who knows. [Laughs] Ask him, he might tell you.”
Timbaland also said that “you can’t compete with Drake,” meaning that trying to make similar music will only result in an inferior product:
“I look at him like he could be related to me because he’s part of music. That boy’s doing a good job. You can’t compete with Drake because he got it. You gotta shock people in another way. I think Timbaland and Young Thug is more shocking than Drake. Because you know what Drake is. But you never saw what Timbaland and Thug is. You never saw what Timbaland and Rich Homie Quan is. You never saw what Timbaland and Migos can do. You’ll be like, “You see the difference between what Timbaland did [compared to the old]?” That will be the talk. And that will be a “View,” along with his Views. You gotta find a way to stand beside that dude.”

Timbaland also revealed that he is working on a new album, and that he might be dropping a free mixtape in the near future.

No Damn Cliff For Timbaland

Five years ago, he was at the top of his game. The biggest names in the music business were clamoring for his production skills. Everything he touched turned to platinum. But Then, the clouds rolled in. The industry changed, tastes changed...

sitting in the recording studio in Miami’s Setai hotel surrounded by equipment
Tim Mosley Says :

“ Every year changes, every generation, I feel like I was getting whacked, The music of today, it’s not like the music I’m making ”

For a while, he disappeared. There were rumors of drugs, financial insolvency, and depression. Then, this year, he was back, doing his thing on Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail and Justin Timberlake’s 20/20 Experience (Parts 1 and 2), like his same old self. But not quite.

“This is New Tim, I done some changing, I am much more in touch with me.”

the beginning of this new era, Mosley changed the name of his upcoming solo album so that it was no longer a continuation of his "Shock Value" series but the stand-alone "Textbook Timbo" Like his previous albums, it features appearances from usual suspects like Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, and Pharrell, and some newer talent like Drake, and—well, that’s sort of it, really.

New Tim might be more humble, but he also knows how good he is.

“A lot of people have great sounds, but they don’t have great music, Have you seen that movie "Now You See Me?”, That mentalist guy, the way he can hypnotize you, that’s me with my music. Like ‘'Suit & Tie'’  is a great masterpiece.”

Should he win a Grammy this year, New Tim knows exactly what he will say:

“ I’m twelve years a slave. In the music business. I’m the underdog. How many underdogs out there? Fight for what you believe in. Shit will happen. I’m standing up on this podium, as a living witness, to witness that God is always on time. Not on your time. But he knows when you deserve something. ”

Mosley still makes most of his beats the old-fashioned way. People talk about the time when Mosley picked up a chair during the recording of Rihanna’s “Sell Me Candy” and started bashing the window, just to get the sound he wanted.

“ I do everything from my mouth, Horn sounds, everything. The other night, I was watching Oblivion, and I fell asleep, but I woke up when I heard something dope and I’m like, ‘Aww, I got to sample this."

Leaning against a royal palm, clad in a nautically themed sweatshirt, a massive gold chain featuring the head of Jesus dangling from his neck, he continues lip-synching the chorus of “Been It,” which will appear on his next album, the song, an upbeat, heavily Auto-Tuned It it was written with Pharrell Williams

“For your information, baby, I’m-a make sure and tell you ’bout these hoes ”

There’s only one that holds his interest. Which is why Tim Mosley he’ll always come back To Rule The Radio Once Again This Year

Timbaland Announce Album "Textbook Timbo"

Timbaland had been been working on his new album SHOCK VALUE 3 for a couple of years. But the super producer is switching up the plans as he has now scrapped the entire project and re-recording it with a new title to go along — Textbook Timbo. He actually announced this at the Belgium leg of Magna Carta tour yesterday
While playing at the show

Timbaland has had huge success in recent months, thanks to the release of Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z’s new albums. And something tells me, he will go for a more Hip-Hop than Pop sound on this one, unlike his last two efforts — Shock Value and Shock Value 2. Yesterday, he previewed a new Jay-Z/Drake "Know Bout Me" song which is a good signs of things to come
