Missy Elliott & H.E.R. - Paint It Black (Pepsi Zero Commercial)

Pepsi has tapped Missy Elliott and H.E.R. for an ad pitching Pepsi Zero Sugar during the Super Bowl. The 30-second spot is clearly aimed at its arch-rival Coca-Cola with the opening scene showing H.E.R. and a large crowd having their red soda cans transformed into black, Pepsi Zero Sugar cans. 

 Sure, the cans say “Cola” but the reference couldn’t be more obvious with Pepsi using Coca-Cola’s typeface while in the background you can see Coke’s well-known wave symbol. The whole spot is anchored by a cover of The Rolling Stones’ classic song “Paint It Black”.

Missy Elliott - Pep Rally

Missy Elliott wants you to biggidy biggidy bounce and rock with it in her new Pharrell-produced song “Pep Rally.” The tune, featuring all the go-to sounds of a proper pep rally, is a refreshing reminder what Missy’s capable of after her underwhelming release for “WTF (Where They From).” She originally premiered the song in a commercial for Amazon Echo former Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino, Alec Baldwin and Jason Schwartzman. Elliott might not be performing in this year’s Super Bowl halftime show, but she sure as hell is setting the mood.

Timbaland Casting Models For Upcoming Promo Commercial
